QR.tools is built so that you can use it without giving us any personal data. This page explains what that means in practice.
Your content stays in your browser
QR codes are generated, styled and exported entirely on your device. Images you upload for scanning, logos you add and the text you encode are processed locally and are never uploaded to our servers.
Scanning images from a link
When you scan an image by entering its URL, our server downloads that image on your behalf (because most websites do not allow browsers to fetch images directly) and passes it to your browser. The image is not stored, and the URL is not logged beyond standard, short-lived infrastructure logs.
Local storage
Your preferences (theme, last design, scan history) are saved in your browser’s local storage so they are there next time. You can clear them at any time in your browser settings or with the “Clear” button in the scanner.
Analytics
We use privacy-friendly, cookie-free analytics that count page views without identifying individual visitors. No advertising trackers are used.
