Frequently asked questions

Is it safe to scan QR codes online?

Scanning itself is safe — decoding only reads the image. Be careful with the result: check the domain of a link before opening it, as malicious QR codes (“quishing”) can lead to fake login pages.

Can I scan a QR code from a screenshot or a photo?

Yes. Upload the screenshot or photo, or simply paste it with Ctrl+V / Cmd+V. Several codes in one image are detected at once.

Why can’t my QR code be read?

Common causes are blur, glare, a missing quiet zone, very low contrast or a code cut off at the edge. Try a sharper, larger image with the whole code visible.
